The Referral Center for Alcohol and Drug Services of Central Oklahoma, Inc. (The Referral Center, or TRC) is the only private, not-for-profit program in central Oklahoma available 24-hours a day, seven days a week to assess (and admit when appropriate) consumers—persons identified as needing substance abuse services without regard of financial ability. Due to the progressive nature of chemical dependency, The Referral Center strives to meet consumers at the moment they reach out for help. Appropriately trained personal complete assessments (and admissions when appropriate) at all hours of the day and night. Our continuing mission is to provide exceptional patient-centered chemical dependency services to persons seeking drug-free lives in the state of Oklahoma.

Take the first important step toward recovery

When alcohol or drug use causes problems in any area of a person’s life, physical health, family life, job, or social behavior, it is very likely that person has a chemical dependency problem.

What is chemical dependancy?

Chemical dependency on alcohol or any other drug, is recognized by the medical field as an incurable and progressive disease. If left untreated, the disease will inevitably lead to serious illness, incarceration or death.

There are no age, sex, racial or social barriers to alcohol and drug dependency. The disease affects young and old, male and female, the poor and the wealthy.

Addiction is incurable but can be arrested with recovery from the disease through skilled treatment and subsequent support. The center assists patients in reaching and maintaining sobriety. In order that they may resume a healthy, productive lifestyle.

Inpatient Program

The treatment approach is designed to help an individual take the first vital steps away from drug and alcohol dependency. Our team of experienced doctors, nurses and counselors helps individuals begin their recovery in a loving, caring atmosphere. Our treatment program is based on the twelve steps.

Expert assesment and referrral

A thorough and professional intake evaluation of each patient’s specific areas of need allows us to suggest and formulate treatment with care and respect for maximum therapeutic benefit.

Admissions

Admissions can be arranged on an elective basis 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 405-525-2525 or coming to the Center at 1215 N.W. 25th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (admission of patients under 18 years of age is not permitted.) All inquiries are held in strictest of confidence.

Medically supervised detoxification and care

Extended alcohol or drug abuse takes its toll causing many physical problems. A thorough medical evaluation and constant nursing care are provided until the patient is stabilized. Medications may be administered, if indicated, to achieve withdrawal with a minimum of discomfort.

Aftercare, relapse prevention

During treatment, each patient sets goals for sober living with direction and support from his/her counselor. Regularly scheduled meetings plus support from the outside programs of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Cocaine Anonymous help the recovering individual to achieve these goals. Educational sessions on the trigger mechanisms and symptoms of relapse prepare the patient for preventing recurrence of alcohol or drug use.

Financially affordable for all

The Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those who suffer from chemical dependency. Our fees are adjusted based on each client’s ability to pay. Many health insurance policies cover the care provided at the Center.

The Referral Center is certified and funded by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

The Referral Center for Alcohol and Drug Services of Central Oklahoma, Inc. is a nonprofit (501)(c)(3) organization, and was incorporated in 1981.

All contributions are tax deductible within the limits of federal tax laws.

Speakers Bureau

The Center responds to the need for community education by providing speakers on the topic of chemical dependency for: businesses, service groups, schools, church groups, parents’ groups and social service agencies. A Chance To Change

This ongoing, six-part educational series deals with the many faces of chemical dependency, alcohol and other addictions. People from all walks of life attend. It has special significance for people who may be concerned about a family member, friend or themselves. Feedback from past participants indicates the significance and impact the educational series has made in the lives of individuals and families.
