Mission Statement

Clay Crossing Foundation’s mission is to provide quality extended chemical dependency treatment in a structured and supportive living environment. We welcome all male consumers, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions, who are appropriate for this level of care as determined by American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and meet private pay guidelines. Our main goal and objective for these consumers is to enhance their ability to achieve sustained recovery as evidenced by maintaining abstinence from mood altering substances and increasing serenity, integrity, spirituality, and life contentment.

History

Clay Crossing was formed in the Spring of 2000 as a non-denominational Christian based, 12 Step program using Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Founders were: Dick Liddell, a businessman from Norman; Lloyd Trenary, an Oklahoma City certified public accountant, Fred Gipson, former counsel for the University of Oklahoma; and Jim Riley, OU football star and holder of a Super Bowl ring. Clay Crossing was named in honor of Robbie Clay Liddell. Certified Counselors Jim Schmit and Bruce Kaup who have years in the field of chemical dependency counseling developed the program with their commitment and dedication to helping alcoholics and addicts.

In 2003, G.D. Madden, another Oklahoma City businessman interested in an opportunity to give back to the community purchased the Center. In 2004, Counselor Bill Anderson was added to the staff. Clay Crossing Foundation continues to be successful in helping men balance their lives spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally.
